Puppy Playtime

We enjoyed a super fun evening out in the living room...we even got to play with some of the big dog toys!  The bone was our favorite.  I hope Momma brings it to our puppy pen soon.  It was great fun exploring and so many new things!  Wow, it's wonderful to be a puppy!  ;)

 (PS...Heather, Momma is looking for a basket.  hee hee)

And little Uma is growing...we can't wait til she comes and plays WITH us!!

Wonderful Chaos!

Oh my...have things gotten busy!!  So, this may be a quick post as there just is not much flippin' time to do a whole lot of anything but tend to puppies.  And that is awesome!

Okay, first, now that Uma is here...Bailey puppies look humongous!  Wow, hard to believe they were once as tiny as she is.  Seeing her and then them, makes me realize how fragile she is.  Scary!  But she's doing great so far.  She will be ready to eat again in just a few minutes.

Look at the size difference 1 day to 3 weeks.  !!!  Gosh, they are all too cute.  These pictures really don't capture the size difference but trust me there is!

 

  

The Batman Bunch have been great eaters and today we started on gruel.  For the first time, they did great!!!  Joker was the only one who didn't quite understand it all but even he tried.  After they eat now, I just set them over on their potty pad and for the most part everyone takes care of business.  LOVE IT!

They are really getting interested in their surroundings.  They are starting to want to play, still figuring out what that means but we've added some toys and they tend to mouth at things and bark more frequently at objects.  Again, so dang cute!  Batman is currently the most outgoing and will let us know if he is not happy.  I think he has a crush on Apple.  ;)

Early Arrival - Bailey & Broggie Pups!

Bailey had a restless night last night and showed some signs of early labor.  So at 12 noon today Dr. Jim delivered 6 beautiful bulldog babies.  5 boys and 1 girl!  I believe there will be three reds and three brindles....so cute!!

Momma and babies are doing great.  Bailey has already nursed her babies twice and has even helped with their cleaning...such a good girl!

Great Day!

It's definitely turning out to be a very nice day!  First, Henry received two legs towards his Rally Novice obedience title.  He did very well at the show this weekend.  He is such a delight...in every way!  Good job, Oh Henry!  We only need one more leg for his title.  Most likely we'll try for this in March, depends on puppy arrivals. ;)

And, speaking of puppies.  Bailey's mom, Nancy, felt puppy movement today!  She said it felt like butterflies in her hand.  Ah, how awesome is that!!!!  Bully babies!  :)

Then there's the Packer-Cardinal game.  Still a whole half to go...but go Arizona!!

Tonight is flyball night!!!  Yes, a very good day.

5 !!!

Here's a quick news flash....only have a few minutes.  Bailey visited Dr. Jim today for her ultrasound this morning.  Beating hearts were found and the possibility of 5 bully babies!!  :)))  Keep up the prayers for healthy and strong puppies.  Due date February 9.  Way to go Bailey and Broggie!

Patience...

Ugh, most definitely this is not my strongest virtue...most people would likely describe me as impatient.  But our wait has now begun and there's no rushing mother nature.

We had our second breeding today with Otto and Maisy.  All went great...Otto, what can I say....he has only ONE thing on his mind, ALL the time!  Whew, good things for strong doors.

Marby's Worth the Wait of Muddy Rivers, "Whitley," went in for an early ultrasound yesterday...YA HOO...they saw puppies.  Ultrasounds are not the most accurate for determining litter size but they thought they saw 4.  I co-own Whitley with my friend Deb and this will be a first-time litter for both of them...bully mom and human mom.  Exciting for them!!

Bailey goes in next week for her ultrasound....she's been a very tired girl and we think has had morning sickness.  A good sign, but we'll hopefully confirm the pregnancy next week (Wednesday).  I have a few photos on the website of Bailey and Maisy but if you want to see more you can check out their photo albums on my shutterfly site.

Tis The Season!!!!

No, not the holiday, dazzle kind. A more biological season. :)

Bailey came into heat this weekend, and I know Maisy is not far behind. Maisy should be any day. If all goes as planned it will be a very busy puppy February! Fun...and always stressful. But we are excited.

So this week begins the prosterone testing...which is bloodwork labs to determine ovulation and the optimal breeding dates. The breeding is done artificially so it's all very clinical. I love the anticipation of it all!
