The Puppy Post Update

Well, breeding bulldogs is definitely not for the faint of heart!  They are not your typical breed and come with many unique breeding and delivery quirks.  It's a very exciting time but not without its stresses!

Last night Bailey gave us a bit of a scare.  At first, we thought her water may have broke.  OH NO, that would not have been a good thing.  Fortunately, we are thinking it was just some inconsequential discharge.  She is not showing ANY signs of early labor so we are breathing a HUGE sigh of relief.  I am hoping it continues for at least three more days.  We don't want those babies to come any sooner than Saturday.  Needless to say it kicked me into high gear to get some things checked off my "to do" list.  And, thank goodness she is resting comfortably and quietly.  Whew!

Whitley is doing very well and is on Day 59 so all things are going along as expected for her.  Another sigh of relief.  The delivery is planned for Saturday...ONLY three days away!!  OMG, so exciting.

But my most special news for the day came after Maisy's morning ultrasound.  Our little "Uno" baby is doing very well (yes, just one, but so special to me already.)  It was a beautiful moment to see that one puppy with a beating heart and to be able to make out the shape of its head, body and limbs!  And to top it all off...it was wigglying around like crazy.  LOVED that!!!  Dr. Jim said, "Sorry it's only one."  My response, "Are you crazy?  I am ecstatic to see this one puppy!"  I think because it is a one-sie makes it even more special.

So that's our update for today...keep all those prayers going for healthy bully babies!  They all help and are so very appreciated!

Here's a picture of our Otto "Uno" baby.  Hahaha...looks like he/she might have their daddy's big noggin!
